〈新しく降った雪のあと〉
12年前の今日、2013年4月27日。夜のうちに薄く積もった新雪を踏みながら道を辿っていると、真新しいヒグマの足跡が先へ続いていた。やはり野生動物も、歩きやすい舗装道を選ぶようだ。
林道で見かけたのはエゾシカ。こちらを一瞥して森へ消えていった。動物の気配を色濃く感じるようになると、春だ。
糠平湖底は白い雪と湿った土がまだら模様を描き、色彩に乏しい景色が広がっていた。華やかさはないが、冬と春が入り混じるこの時期にしかない情景も悪くない。
Twelve years ago today—27 April 2013—I followed a thin layer of fresh snow along the road and spotted brand‑new brown‑bear tracks heading the same way. Even the wildlife seems to prefer an easy, paved path. A little farther on, an Ezo deer glanced back at me before slipping into the trees; when animals start showing up, you know spring is close.
Down on the lakebed, patches of white snow and damp earth formed a muted mosaic. No bright colors, just winter and spring overlapping in their own quiet way—and that stripped‑down scenery felt just right.
