〈まだ雪の消えない糠平湖で〉
18年前の今日、2007年4月23日。早朝5時過ぎから、タウシュベツ川橋梁で写真を撮っていた。
糠平湖にはまだ冬の名残りの景色がそのまま残っていた。沖合には低い霧が溜まり、風に押されてゆっくり流れてくる。アーチの連なりがやがて、真っ白い霧の中にかすんでいった。
Early this morning on 23 April 2007, I was out at Taushubetsu Bridge just after five.
Winter still clung to Lake Nukabira—ice crusted with frost and a low mist pooling offshore. A light breeze pushed that mist toward the eleven arches until the whole bridge faded into a white veil.
