〈雪が解け切らない糠平湖底で〉
14年前の今日、2011年4月18日は、まだ雪が解けきらない糠平湖の湖底に立っていた。冬を越したタウシュベツ川橋梁を間近で眺め、写真に収める――いまも変わらないルーティンだ。
こんな時期にそこまで行けたのは、当時ならではの条件もあったのだろう。ふと振り返ると、同じように「崩れそうで崩れない」橋を、雪が残る湖底で撮っている自分が、14年後のいまもいるのがなんとも不思議で懐かしい気持ちになる。
Fourteen years ago today—April 18, 2011—I was standing on the partially frozen bed of Lake Nukabira. I got a close-up view of the Taushubetsu Bridge, fresh from surviving another winter, and snapped some photos – a routine I still follow to this day.
Back then, certain conditions made it possible to get there at this time of year. Looking back, it feels both strange and nostalgic that, fourteen years later, I’m essentially doing the same thing: photographing a “close-to-collapse” bridge while snow still clings to the lakebed.
